I've taken to using my Thor 4 as both a tracker and on a .300 blackout rifle I use for coyote and hog hunting. I didn't want to spend the money to have both a tracker and a scope, so it comes off my rifle when I'm not hunting hogs and coyotes. It's a solidly built unit and I can see why it's one of the most common thermals on the consumer market at the price point. Some of my more tacticool friends tried to steer me towards a more expensive thermal scope under another brand. My more practical friends that I hunt with on the regular basis all use ATNs for both thermal and NV purposes. It holds zero when I remount it on my rifle after using it as a tracker. The only con is that it is difficult to track something that's moving fast, and it works best during cooler weather. The first time I took it off to use as a tracker surprised me seeing that I didn't have to re-zero it. This was my introduction into thermal scopes, and boy is it a game changer.
