These were backordered and I can see why!

I’ve tried shooting sticks. Leaning against a tree or large rock works better for me.
I put a shooting stick top on a camera tripod. It works better than a shooting stick, but not great.
This baby is rock solid!
You can read about all the cool adjustments in other reviews.
#1 for me is using it to bore sight and zero rifles.
#2 is using it in a blind, to a trail, or a wildlife observation post while waiting for a wild hog or deer to visit! Have you ever bumped your rifle against your blind and then watched your time spent go down the tube?

Outstanding!

Have had an ATN X-Sight II (IR) for some time. Optics Planet offered a deal I couldn’t refuse with the QD scope mount, Death Grip tripod and free shipping! Being familiar with night vision and thermal vision, I wasn’t expecting the moon with this scope, but I was pleasantly surprised when I turned it on! Very clear and sharp view screen! Very good lens and sensor sharpness at this price point! Easy to use buttons and menu! Simpler than higher $$ scopes. Fast startup! Heavier than a traditional scope but, without the eyecup, the same length. Even the charging cord is first-class HD! My day scope has QD mounts, so swapping for nighttime use is a breeze. And one-shot zero is superb! I own a FLIR entry level TK Scout. @$599. This thermal is more than 50% better than the FLIR in sharpness and positive ID range. No problem clearly seeing chickens in daylight at 50-60 yards. Expected a 200 yard scope and this Thor LT exceeded my expectations! Thanks again, Optics Planet for your pricing and great customer service!

FLIR Scout TK is Awesome Way to Enter Thermal Night Vision!

Written on Nov 11, 2016

I purchased the FLIR Scout TK to compliment my ATN XSight II HD Day/Night vision scope and many other uses around a ranch. It performs exactly as advertized. It works great out to 100 yds, but the range for vision can be much farther depending on temperature. Light and easy to operate! Finding downed game, spotting incoming feral hogs, looking for hidden calves or heat leaks around the house, this thing is awesome! Thank you, Optics Planet for a great price and customer service!

Great Product-But Follow Instructions and Seek Help Online

Written on Oct 18, 2016

ATN is the only company that provided me with an affordable, quality, day/night multi-zoom power scope.
It is a high quality product with a fairly steep learning curve, at first. It's basically a smartphone or computer within a scope.
It comes pre-loaded with "Firmware". On your smart phone, it would be called a software upgrade. Users sometimes need to update to ATN's newest firmware for features such as Wi-Fi or the Ballistics calculator to work.
For this, the user must know a bit about different caliber ballistics data, scope heights, etc.
There are many recommendations for auxiliary power supplies Infrared illuminators and rifle setups. The included IR illuminator is basic, but works well for under 100 yds.
If this intimidates you, seek something simpler! Having said that, I'm 63 years old and this scope has been a fun challenge to learn.
When you set it up per the instructions and get some tips from new friends on the web, you have a fantastic scope for more than one weapon. Users use them on many of the weapons in their home. Air rifles, cross-bows, .22s, .223 and more! The scope let's you save these "profiles" for future use. You just have to learn how to load data, zero your weapon, and use it correctly!
Don't fear. If you have purchased a new computer or smart phone recently, you have gone through a similar process!
"Garbage in, garbage out", LOL! If you stick with it, you will be amazed at what you can do with this scope!
