This spring is not reduced enough to cycle subsonic ammo to cycle in my AK47 (WASR 10)
I was however able to make an additional reduction with a piece of baling wire.
I compressed a small section (about 1”) at the front end of the spring and tied it up with a piece of baling wire.
I should have read the instructions first. I was hoping to get subsonic ammo to cycle in my Ak47 (WASR-10), by increasing the gas flow to the recoil system. The instruction state that this piston is not intended to do that.
The instructions also mention that the original piston may be welded in place and be difficult to remove. Right again! It took me a couple of days and several broken drill bits to get the original piston out. I also destroyed the original piston in the process.
Having said all that, this piston can greatly reduce gas flow with or without a silencer installed.
The giant circle on the Vulcan model significantly improves my “get on target time”.
Great for hit-and-miss shooters like me.
Green reticle is also great in brighter environments.
For the last 10 years I have been using a single stop for all my pistol calibers. It was set to give a full throw on the dispenser. The different calibers had the dispenser set to different depths to get a proper flare on the case mouth. This adjustment was limited when the dispenser measure was obstructed by other parts of the press. Now I also have a dedicated stop for each caliber. This allows a fine tuning of the flare.
I hadn't expected my original expander to wear out but after tens of thousands of rounds it became gouged and stuck inside the case mouth. Replacing it cleared up the problem.
I'd give it a 5 star rating if it did not eventually wear out.
P.S. An inexpensive fix to a painful problem.
Great protection from dust and dirt, as well as scratches.
Installs quickly and easily.
Doors are sometimes difficult to latch closed or to open.
Doors operate separately as apposed to popping open with one action.
I fell in love with this pan because it meant I didn't have to pick up a separate funnel for every measured charge. Unfortunately, the plastic is very susceptible to static electricity and creates some type of interference with my RCBS Charge Master Scale. In a very dry climate, just placing my hand near the pan caused to measure to change by .5gr. I even tried grounding the powder scale, grounding myself, and placing the pan on a grounding wire before placing it on the scale. Of course it took me several hours to figure out why the scale kept fluctuating.
