After collecting parts for a couple of years, I started putting together a 6.5 Grendel. Finding I had no fixed stock, I ordered a DPMS A2 stock. I was extremely disappointed as their quality control has hit the skids. Not only did it fit the lower loosely, I had to hammer the plastic butt plate into the stock.
Not satisfied with the DPMS unit, I ordered one of these and really didn't expect much. However, I was really surprised as this stock is far superior to what DPMS is putting out these days. It fits much better, is black instead of gray, and has a similar plastic butt plate. But if actually fits the stock properly and does the stock does not stand proud over it as is the case of the DPMS stock.
I was so happy with the Leapers unit, I ordered a second so I could have a spare on hand. The Leapers stock is made in Taiwan and comes with a buffer tube, buffer, and spring.
Very clear and bright optics and well defined mil-dot reticle. I have two of these scopes and both are mounted on spring piston air rifles. One of the two scopes has more backlash in the reticle adjustments than the other, but both track well and the adjustments appear repeatable. The side parallax adjustment works as advertised. I have not used the lighted reticle feature. The scope also comes with rings and lens caps. The only slightly negative comment concerns the turret locks; they are made of plastic instead of aluminum, but in the short term have worked without issue. If you shoot field target, you would need a higher magnification scope for ranging purposes, but this scope is fine for hunter field target or just general shooting. As I am using both of mine on Walther LGV springers which have minimum recoil, I can't speak to how well they would hold up on a magnum springer. Now that it is legal to hunt squirrels in Texas with air guns, I'm going to purchase another of these scopes to mount on a .22 caliber pre-charged pneumatic.
I have three sets of these rings on air rifles. Two are springers and one is a pre-charged pneumatic. Since they are Chinese made rings, the allen head screws are metric. One of the rings comes with a stop pin that can be screwed down into the recoil stop pin hole on springer air rifles. They fit both 11 mm and 3/8" dovetails and hold securely. As these rings are anodized aluminum, they have not ring-marked any of the three scopes that I have mounted in them. I've also used the 1" version of this ring set with similar success. I've been torquing both the clamp and ring-half screws to 25 in-lbs.
