Easy fit no drilling but a little flexy

Written on Dec 12, 2017

I got this to mount on a US built Lee Enfield #4 Mk1. Installation was pretty easy, it mounts by replacing the pin at the back of the flip up iron sight (you remove the rear sight assembly and store it for when you want to go back to stock). You also connect the front left by removing the existing extraction screw and replacing it with one from this mount. The picture does not show the right version for a #4 mk1. There should be holes across the back of the mount to fit into the space the existing iron rear site was, and a downward facing arm on the left side with a hole to the front. This mount is attached at three points, two in the rear and one on the left side, and sits high enough that you have access to put a round in and push down to load that way (although you can't use a stripper clip unless you pull the magazine out). On the one I got, I found it actually was angled UP enough that I was not able to bore sight it at all, however, I gave a little "oomph" to it, and put a little bend in the rail which lowered the front scope ring mount and it zeroed in. I worry about bumping the scope and bending the rail again. Still, this was able to install in less than 10 minutes and requires no drilling or modifications to the gun, so I can always go back to iron sites if I want to. For the price, it's a good way to try out a scope on this old rifle.

Nice budget scope - VERY tall rings

Written on Dec 12, 2017

I got this to mount on a raised mount on an old Lee Enfield. I got it because the price was good, and it came with rings. One thing I noticed is the rings are VERY tall - they would be fine on a rifle with a mounting rail already on it and you wanted to look through the bases of the rings to use the iron sights, but with my application it is just too dang tall. However, I ordered a set of low profile rings (these are high) and everything mounted up just fine.
