A little more to push

Written on Mar 31, 2025

The extended mag release is a great upgrade. It does not extend past a point of uncomfortable or snagging reach. It does make for a great trigger finger push to eject. Helps the reload speed for sure. I would highly recommend installing the Magwell by Strike Industries at the same time. You can knock out two birds with one stone. It was an easy install and keeps it looking sharp.

Magwell well well

Install is easy on this one. I do recommend getting the Strike Industries mag release and installing at the same time. Nothing wrong if you want to install both separately, just saves a step. It will not accept the Magpul 50rnd drum mag however. Could use about an 1/8th of an inch removed to use the 50rnd drum.

Getting a Grip

The M-LOK version is either shorter, less girth or both compared to the picatinny version. Feels like your pinky at times wants to move under when grabbing. The equivalent would be gripping a baseball bat, then going to a golf club. It is solid and works well, just is noticeably different when going from picatinny version to MLOK version.

Leapers UTG Pro 30 Rnd Window Mag

Written on Dec 14, 2024

The magazine has a feel that I would describe as sci-fi or unnecessarily futuristic. Almost like they belong on a weapon in the Judge Dredd universe. Or just about any 80's action movie set in the "Future". The raised bumps allow for extra traction when grabbing but feel odd. They are more of a distraction at the moment. Could change with more time using said magazines. The spring is nice and the best part about the magazine is the floor plates they come with. With getting them at roughly $6/1. I am able to overlook the negatives for some spare magazines for range day.

Trybe Defense 10Rnd Mag

It fits snug in the Smith & Wesson M&P SportII. The extra length helps with allowing a hand to grab the bottom and assist the magazine out. Looks great and has survived a couple of drops from approximately 4'.

CZ Scorpion Evo 3 S1

Written on Dec 14, 2024

The grip is a great alternative to the original if you feel like you need extra positive when grabbing and controlling the scorpion. It has a soft textured rubberized feel. Think of the red rubber dodge balls but softer, more grippy and doesn't smell.
