The much hyped ACRO arrived and I went to put the battery in. The battery is TINY. It is about the size of a tick. Here is the actual battery expected life based on reviews I found on other sites. Once I realized how frequently I would have to be swapping out the battery (and the optic doesn't appear to be built for frequent swaps), I knew I couldn't keep this and am going back to the RMR, which admittedly isn't perfect either. Aimpoint needed to design this with a bigger battery, period.

Level 10 - 8 days
Level 9 - 21 days (level I would be using the optic at)
Level 8 - 2 months
Level 7 - 6 months
Level 6 - 1 year (this is what Aimpoint says in their literature but few people can use the dot at this low level)

If you are comfortable with frequent, regular battery changes this might be the optic for you... but I would have to have this as a patrol officer, forget to change the battery every week, then have the optic die when you need it most.

It is my belief that Trijicon has mislabeled a large amount of 1911 RMR mounts as RM48, which purported fit the Springfield XD and XDm. The item I received could not have possibly fit a Springfield firearm and matched the schematic I found online for a Trijicon 1911 mount. This matches a similar complaint I found on another website which starts with the letter A. Only purchase this item if you can see it in person and verify that it will fit the rear slide cut for the Springfield XD/XDm line.
