Maybe Perfect

Written on Mar 31, 2025

This cheekpiece may be a perfect fit for my scope height and chubby face...lol. All I need to do is get to the range and dial it all in. It's fairly thick, seems well formed and fits the adjustable cheek riser in stock very securely and was easy to install. Not sure how long the rubberized top coating will last, only time will tell.

3 out of 3 do not fit

Written on Mar 31, 2025

I purchased 3 of these Swampfox killflash honeycombs so far, for my two Swampfox 5x30x56 Kentucky Long Scopes. One bought a year ago which will not thread into either of the scopes, I even filed the threads down some, to make it fit. Now 2 more bought in last week or so and guess what, they will not screw into the scopes either. The weird part is that the 3 inch sun shades screw into and fit perfectly on both scopes. that makes 3, 3 killflash honeycombs worthless. The reason it took a year to buy these last two, Opticsplanet was always out of stock, when I went to buy. I don't want to waste my time or money shipping them back.... I'm fed up with defective stuff.

One heck of a belt

Written on Mar 31, 2022

I purchased this belt 3 months ago and I must say, it is the best belt I have ever owned, even if I did order it 3 sizes to big. It is made from one thick cut of leather just like it says, mine measures 0.240 of an inch thick. After wearing it these 3 months, It has absolutely no curl or twist, like the thin leather belts I have owned in the past. I have yet to try any holsters on it, but think it could handle any size or weight sidearm you can throw at it. I only wish the buckle was able to be changed, but the belt is stitched closed around it good and tight. Not that I don't like the buckle, Just that I have a couple I made, that I'd love to put on it.

Nice Clean Look

Written on Nov 16, 2021

I have 2 of these mounts for my ARs and love them. They are smooth and clean so they won't hold a bunch of dirt, have 4 recoil lugs on the bottom of the base, to keep it mounted tight where it should be. They fit my AR Pic rail very well and give a LOT of scope eye relief adjustment front to back. The only downfall I can see is in the instructions or lack of. I didn't get any for either of my mounts, not that it's hard to figure out how to mount it. But some torque spec would have been nice. So I torqued the scope caps at 15 inch pounds and the base to 20 inch pounds, both with #242 Medium Loc Tite on the screws / bolts threads. No problems yet. Wish they made a QD Extended Mount like this.

These are Nothing Fancy But

Written on Nov 16, 2021

These may not be a fancy tricked out heavy duty mount, but they fit my PSA AR hand guard upper picatinny rail very well. My factory Magpul flip up sights mount and lock on with out a problem. The only thing some may not like is that the backup sights sit a little high off the hand guard. From my measurement, the bottom of the pic mount area ( where the backup sight mounts ) is about 3/4 inch from the actual hand guard. But it clears my scopes add on throw lever and the shell deflector. Hope the measurement helps someone. P.S. Do NOT over tighten the mount screw / bolt and remember to use medium strength Loc Tite #242 on them and your flip up sight mount screws.

Very Nice But

Written on Nov 16, 2021

This Strike Ind. AR-15 15 degree pistol grip is really nice, compared to the 25 degree Magpul. But mine did fit a little loose over the square lug on the lower, it actually almost fell into place with no effort, and DID have a slight wiggle after torquing it down really really tight. BUT I found a trick to getting the wiggle out ( at least on mine ). Where the beaver tail meets the lower, right under the tube ( the small radius area ) does not seat properly. After torquing it to the lower really tight and don't forget the Medium Loc Tite #242 on the bolt, Take a Bic lighter and heat up the beaver tail below the tube and pop the bottom of the grip with your palm. Keep doing that until you get it hot enough to SLIGHTLY melt it and seat it into place, by smacking the grip bottom with your palm while it's hot and pliable. That took any and ALL wiggle out of my grip, and I love it enough to give it a 5 star.. But my 4 stars still sets, because Striker should have told us, it may have needed that trick done.

Maybe it was me

Written on Nov 03, 2021

These roll pin punches look good and are well machined but, the first 4 hits on the 1/16 punch and it bent on me. Maybe I was a little off on my hit, it is tiny, or maybe they are a little soft. But I was only working on the 1/16 roll pin in my charging handle latch, to swap the latch out with the UTG latch I picked up here on OP. It straightened out ok, hopefully I don't bend it again and break it off.

Just what I wanted

Written on Nov 03, 2021

I had second thoughts about getting this, but now I'm glad I put it in the cart. It has a nice clean machine quality, finish and fits better than the factory latch. Plus it lets me get a nice pull on my PSA AR15 charging handle, with the scope in the way, mounted right over top of it. Oh and it's easy as sin to install. I just wish it came with a new roll pin, but that's not a deal breaker.

It's not going anywhere

Written on Nov 03, 2021

This little QD mount is built like a tank and out of the same steel I think. It's not going to wear out or break and fits my mlok rail and Blue Force QD sling end perfectly. Not much else to say but, don't forget to loc=tite the screws AND I recommend it to anyone needing a QD mlok sling mount. Yes I will buy another when the need comes.

Very Well Made

Written on Nov 02, 2021

I am new to the sling thing, but I can tell quality when I see and feel it. Like one of the other reviewers said " the hype is real" this sling is something you can have in service for years and years. One thing I can also say is, don't thing it will be short in the fit department. I have it mounted to the far front of my AR front guard with a BCM mlok QR mount and as far back on the MFT stock as it will go. I'm 5'11" and 280 lbs. I still have a good amount of extra sling strap left over. I taped it to itself to keep it out of the way til I can get some hook n loop ties to go around it. The padding is perfect, not too thick or thin and hugs my neck like a nice scarf. The Blue Force Gear Vickers sling and QR ends I would highly recommend to anyone looking/needing one. I'll buy another Blue Force Vickers when the time comes.
