They must use toy rifles in the photos for Plano cases. The Plano single case barely fits most medium size scoped rifles with the rifle rubbing against the top & bottom, plenty of length though. This double case easily fits one gun with about 4 inches extra space. All the other double cases I could find were too expensive for what I wanted, just sturdy enough for trips to a local range, so this was a good deal. I wouldn't use this on an airline or for a shipping company. It would be OK as an inner shipping container if you had a heavy cardboard (at least) outer container about one inch larger on each side. The top foam pad falls out every time I open the case, a minor problem that I think some double sided sticky tape will cure when I get around to it. I'll leave the bottom pad unattached to provide storage for small, flat accessories.
