I've had plenty of Walkers electronic muffs and quite familiar with them. They generally work well at keeping the noise to hearing safe levels but microphones their microphones help little with hearing enhancement.
You'd think these quad mic muffs would be the solution. It's a good idea but poorly designed. The quad muffs do provide a little better directional sound detection but it's not much better than their their std muffs.
The biggest areas where they fail are microphone sensitivity and background noise reduction. These 2 areas are especially important for hunting or anyone looking for hearing enhancement at the range. Conversation on windy days or with other background noise is difficult. Hunters looking for enhanced hearing should look elsewhere. Bottom line is that noise cancellation technology has been around for decades - Walkers needs to use it. More sensitive mics have been around for even longer. People want super levels of hearing without the amplified background noise.
For starters, I got this scope on sale from Optics Planet. In terms of bang for the buck, this scope can't be beat. I spent a good bit of time looking thru scopes before making this purchase. In terms of clarity, I've been told that Kahles and Swarovski have the best glass. I was unable to see where those scopes had better clarity. I also checked out Nightforce, Schmidt&Bender, Leupold, US Optics, Vortex, and even Sig Sauer. This scope is VERY good. It's illuminated and it has a 5x magnification range. It's also a 1st focal plane scope. The glass is super clear and viewing is easy on the eye (I feel like I could spend all day behind this thing). At half the price of those other high end scopes, this scope can't be beat. Even at its MSRP, this scope is worth the money.
I'm not easily impressed but this mount is impressive. Every detail about it shows that real engineering (by people that actually shoot) was used with its design. This mount maintains true zero when disconnected and reinstalled. It actually comes with a tool for leveling the scope, and not only is the leveling very quick, it is more accurate than any bubble level and plumb line. I verified the quick leveling job with a plumb line and it was perfect.
In this day and time, most products are engineered by accountants. Accountants are good for maximizing profits but they don't make good engineers. Yeah, the downside to this mount is its cost. However, absolutely no corners were cut with this mount's design nor were they cut with the manufacturing. This mount is an A+ product.
What can I compare it with... I've tried several types of QD mounts. I also really like LaRue Tactical QD mounts. Well, the Spuhr mount is even better. Granted it costs about 2x as much. Oh yeah, another perk, this mount includes its own bubble level (no more attaching levels to the scope). Everything about this mount is as good as it gets - I am unable to find any are were this mount could have been designed any better.
