These mags have been feeding flawlessly for years and their durability is legendary. Apparently they’re even tougher with this generation because of a new polymer formulation. The grip texture on this generation feels improved as well. The gen 3 mags now also have dot matrix for marking your mags which is nice feature. The mag window is worth the extra cost and these mags are just as easy to disassemble as previous generations. A must have for any serious AR-15 loadout.

The angle on this grip feels much more natural than your standard A2 grip and with the index finger groove I feel I get more recoil control resulting in better target transition. The grip texture also aids in this regard. The beaver tail follows the contour of my BCM lower perfectly too. I ordered mine in FDE with the storage plug which comes in black and like the look of it installed in addition to the added functionality. Overall this grip looks and feels great. I’ve got big hands so if this was a slightly bigger it’d be even better but the size works well for me as it is. I plan on purchasing another one. The G.I. Joe adventure team would be proud of this grip.

Simple piece of kit serving a very important role. What you see is what you get. Many manufacturers make a similar product but I went with BCM because of my experience with some of their other products and their reputation for quality. This is well manufactured and you can feel it when holding it and installing it on your rails. BCM delivers as usual and at a great price.

Due to price and availability this is my go to training ammo. This also burns noticeably cleaner than white box M193. I run this ammo through a 14.5” and 11.5” barrels and the terminal ballistics are what you’d expect. The flat shipping fee ($9.99) for ammo Can be used to your advantage when buying in bulk even if the price per round is slightly more than other online retailers. However, make sure the item is in stock and keep an eye on your pending orders as optics planet keeps pushing the estimated shipping date on ammo (9mm federal HST ) I ordered over a month ago. It’s frustrating when other online retailers have the ammo readily available but optics planet won’t fulfill the order in a timely manner. More so when you see the estimated ship date get pushed back every time I check the status.

I spent a lot of time researching and comparing this upper to other manufacturers of similar caliber and decided this was the best option for the following reasons.

The Cold Hammer Forged, chrome-lined barrel uses a mid-length gas system, which is generally considered better than carbine-length for softer recoil and smooth operation.

The Geissele barrel profile is better for heat dispersion and barrel harmonics compared to the government-profile barrels on most URGI kits.

I’m also a big fan of the index notch on the upper receiver that mates with the center-tab of the MK16 rail. This eliminates any chance of rail rotation, and it’s what H&K has been doing to their uppers for years now.

The Reliability Enhanced Bolt Carrier Group uses what Geissele calls, “Nanoweapon” coating which is extremely hard, resists carbon buildup, and lets the gun function reliably with less lube. It is also made from Carpenter 158+, which is much more durable and fatigue-resistant than standard mil-spec.

Adding to all this it also came with the Airborne Charging Handle which is really nice so no need to upgrade there.

I put this upper on a BCM lower and the shooting experience has been awesome.

But ultimately what really sealed the deal for me was the price and customer service. Compared to other sites OpticsPlanet consistently comes in below competitors most of the time with their coupons and discounts. However, I’m more inclined to go with optics planet even if the price is a little more

I recently upgraded my Ruger RXM with the Streamlight TLR-7X Flex (with the rear switch option), and it is phenomenal. Streamlight has taken the best compact light on the market and made it even better. At 500 lumens and 5,000 candela, this light is perfectly optimized for 10 yards and closer. It provides a bright, crisp, white beam that easily illuminates a room or a backyard, but it’s not so powerful that it blinds you with backsplash when using it indoors.

Different shade than what it looked like on screen but still an awesome barrel. Got a silver one instead for my Ruger RXM and it has been great.
