An Extremely Cheap Scope That Can Still Carry Its Own Water

Written on Sep 09, 2023

I picked this scope up as a temporary piece of glass to use for breaking in my new SA M1A Squad Scout until I could save up/acquire a proper piece of glass (planning to go with a SwampFox x1-x10 LPVO) as well as serving as a short/medium range scope on my AR15 (setup in a MK12 SPR format). So far it’s done the job just fine, it’s nothing spectacular but for the price it’s hard to beat. If you need a scope on the cheap that will still hold zero and serve its role in the field while hunting or plinking, then this isn’t a bad option- I’ve usually gone with Monstrum or Vortex scopes and thus far they’ve never let me down… now for clarity and quality of long range viewing, this isn’t your best bet, but hey, it’s meant to be a short to medium range optic anyway. So far it’s done right by me and I wouldn’t not recommend it to a friend, but unless you’re just needing a decent optic for a few weekends of hunting or plinking, I have a feeling this little scope could get worn out pretty easily with heavy use.

Solid Entry Level MICH2000 Helmet

Written on May 01, 2023

Most people nowadays are moving towards the FAST style bump and ballistic helmets, and I myself have a couple, but I wanted to get a MICH style helmet for situations requiring something more protective and useful, even if it’s a little less tacticool looking haha overall though, this helmet will fit the needs of anyone wanting a fairly priced MICH style helmet- only gripe I have though is that you’ll definitely want to add an aftermarket suspension system to it, and probably a pad liner kit as well since the pads and suspension it comes with are pretty low rate (especially the suspension/chin strap… super uncomfortable and feels like it would snap soon as it got yanked hard enough- however, my plan all along had been to add an aftermarket Revision Viper Suspension and liner system to my helmet, and now it’s probably the most comfortable helmet I’ve ever worn, even more so than my fast style bump helmet. Overall, I feel like this helmet paired with a decent after market suspension kit is a winning formula for anyone who wants a helmet like the MiCH that offers maximum coverage and protection of the head.
