The quintessential rifle case

Written on Mar 22, 2024

If you're looking at this case you have a precision/sniper rifle and you go to training courses, compete in matches regularly or want a case that can keep your entire kit together. The zipper is incredibly robust. The material is thick. It is long but fits in a 2003 Honda Accord trunk just barely. It is incredibly rugged, the zipper is thick and sturdier than any other I've seen. It's a really nice case. Cons include the molle webbing inside is woefully limited. It comes in only one color. No shoulder strap or backpack straps. But it fits in a specific pelican case so it can assist with a flight so it has utility.

The basic 34mm One Piece Mount

Written on Jan 31, 2024

This is a strong mount. Like the metal is thick. It features 3 anchors instead of 2. And 6 screws per ring instead of 4. It's Easy to install and understand. But it's heavy and bulky, requiring a big rail footprint so your adjustment of eye relief is in shifting your scope within the mount not moving the mount as there's likely only one place it'll fit atop the reciever.

Next Gen Sharpness

Written on Oct 05, 2022

This trigger is amazing. It takes what little mush there is in very slowly breaking the original SSA Trigger and simply makes a crisp snap with no overtravel. The reset is better as well. I will add though, it feels like there is not the same amount of physical bow movement. Which if you use the take-up to avoid negligent discharges this will feel like there's less room for error. It splits the difference between a combat and precision trigger, leaning combat. So it's consistent and capable of accuracy but designed and shines best in less precise roles. Having tried it in a SDM rifle I prefer it not in that role though it does work reasonably. I only replaced it with the SSAE-X at any rate.
