I ordered the Nikon Monarch 5 10x42 "Factory DEMO" Binoculars as a Christmas gift. I was excited when they Binoculars were received the day before Christmas but they were far from being DEMO models and they did not come with the expected Nikon lifetime unconditional warranty. The box is clearly labeled in bold red letters: "REFURBISHED PRODUCT" and goes on to say: "This product has been refurbished to Nikon Factory specifications by Nikon, Inc. and is covered by a (90) ninety day limited warranty." I am very disappointed with Optics Planet for this one! Nikon is clearly selling these as Refurbished Binoculars and has the word "Refurbished" on the outside of the box in three different places. The term "Factory DEMO" is not listed anywhere on the box or 90 day warranty paperwork in the box. This is clearly a term used by Optics Planet to deceive people into thinking they are getting DEMO, display or open box items...not refurbished with a very limited warranty. Another reason I say this is an obvious deception by Optics Planet is that I have searched all over their site looking for anything that talks about "Factory DEMO" items and there is absolutely nothing that mentions them being even possibly being Refurbished and having limited warranties. The Binoculars look good but you can tell they are not brand new binoculars and there is no way I feel right giving them as a Christmas gift!

I purchased the ATN X-Sight HD II 5-20X, and really like its features. The price from OpticsPlanet was very good using the 12 percent Off Night Vision coupon, and it arrived pretty fast. This is not going to be my primary hunting scope for right now but it mat very well become my go-to scope. The main feature I wanted was the video recording feature and Night Vision of course. I am very much looking forward to sharing the outdoors experience and wildlife video with my wife, kids, and grandkids. I will not be sharing the actual hunting of the animals with them...they probably would not like to see me shoot Bambi. I will actually be taking it out into the woods on a tripod with my thermal tracker to get some nice day and night wildlife video to share. Thank you ATN for creating an affordable Night Vision scope loaded with tons of features for those of us that want to explore the night time wildlife living around us. I also want to thank Optics Planet for the discount and fast delivery.
