As someone with no thermal, I just wanted something entry-level and affordable that would be a starting point for me to satisfy the basic itch, learn how it all works, and actually just use it for the first time. This was pretty much the lowest price I could find, and I like the idea of USB-C recharging since I use that for everything else. This comes with an eyecup that I immediately swapped in. I expect to use this for going on night walks, so far have just used it around my home but it's been a blast for that. The motion is smooth viewed through the device and has a lot of interesting features and customizable settings. The ability to take pictures and record video is pretty intuitive. Connecting to the app is a little tricky with the wifi password generated by device... a 0 and O look the same. But the app is very handy once connected and works well. The AI assistant feature doesn't even launch but I would much rather read the manual anyway -- a copy is easy to find on the ATN website too, handy since you'll be using this in the dark. But the app is great for pulling photos and video off the device, as easy to use as the DJI app. And a surprising thing, the streaming function is very handy. The quality viewed on the phone is actually better and easier to look at than through the device.
