I picked this mount for the sole reason of the claimed finish and it was far from a military parked finish. It looks to be a baked on black powder coat treatment, that really cheapens the entire look. I completely stripped and refinished the unit and also had to weld the lower pintal socket in order to handle live fire. Outside of that, the unit is a decent representation of a later 70 era tripod.
