Excellent Blind Curtains

Written on Apr 09, 2024

I bought a set of these for my Muddy Bull blind. They are great! Easy to install and absolutely silent to use. I love the magnetic peep hole flaps so that you can check all the windows around you without having to completely remove the curtains. After installing these in that blind I was so pleased with them that I ordered another set to use on another make of blind. They will work there too. The set even comes with a couple of extra curtains in the set so that between the two sets I bought I'll probably have enough to use in a third blind. Highly recommend if you can get them at a good price. They retail for $100 a set, which is ridiculous, but at less than $50/set here they were worth buying. These are easy to figure out how to install, but there is even a YouTube video on how to install them if you want to check it out.

Fantastic BDC reticle scope for subsonic 22LR ammo!

Written on Jul 15, 2023

I built a custom 10-22 rifle with an Acculite threaded subsonic barrel with the Bentz chamber and 1:9 fast twist rifling for shooting suppressed subsonic ammo. I have owned 3 or 4 Hawke Optics scopes in the past and have always found them to be excellent quality scopes, rivaling competitors that cost 2-3x as much, and I have always been very satisfied with them, so when I saw this illuminated 22 subsonic scope with a BDC reticle I knew I had to give it a try with this new rifle. I'm glad I did. After sighting in the scope at 50 yards, I immediately shot a 10-shot group at 100 yards using the BDC reticle. Wow! The group was barely bigger than the 50-yard group and centered about 1/2" high at 100 yards! Since the BDC reticle goes out to 200 yards I just had to give it a try at that range. I have a 10" diameter steel gong at 200 yards. I didn't compensate quite enough for the crosswind on my first shot at 200 yards and just nicked the gong, but then I easily rang the steel the next 9 shots in a row! This BDC reticle is great, and I am very pleased with this scope and highly recommend it. - Model-14223

Very nice scope for the price!

Written on Mar 09, 2023

I own several top-of-the-line scopes, but I wanted a higher-power variable scope for a new rifle and I didn't want to spend a lot of money on this one. After doing some research I found a good, detailed review of this scope and the price was right, so I thought I'd give it a try. So far, I'm very impressed and happy with this purchase. It has good, clear glass, good eye relief, a nice illuminated reticle that is thin enough not to cover up targets for precision shooting, and some of the nicest lockable, audible, and feelable click turrets of any scope I've ever tried. It comes with lens caps, a sun shade, and a power throw lever that all work well. - One warning that I will give for this scope though is that you'll want to mount it with a standard set of 2 individual rings instead of a one-piece mount. This scope has a strange, round, protrusion that sticks out about 1/4" at an angle on the bottom of the scope which can cause a clearance problem with a connected, 1-piece mount. I tried calling SightMark customer service to ask what that protrusion is, but I was unable to reach anyone, and after 4 days they still have not returned my call, so customer service might be a problem there. This is my first SightMark product, so I've never dealt with them before to know.

Very nice mount, but limited usefulness depending on the scope you want to use!

Written on Jun 24, 2019

I loved the looks of this mount. It appears to be very high quality and finish. I really liked the idea of the 45 degree mounting rails on the side for mounting iron or red dot sights. That is why I ordered it. Unfortunately, once I set my scope into the base it was very obvious that this mount with its 45-degree rails was NOT going to work with my scope (Primary Arms Platinum Series 6-30x56mm). The 45-degree mounting rails are too close to the scope, and not far enough below the scope base to be useful with ANY scope that has "tall" turrets on the side you want to use, or more than 2 turrets, as mine does. The turrets on my scope block and make useless any sight mounted on those angled rails. It appears to me that only one of these rails could be usable, and then only on the side of a 2-turret scope that does not have a turret.
