Fantastic reflex sight for all conditions.

Written on Aug 13, 2018

I would consider this optic the best of all possible options in its category. The reticle is crisp, the brightness settings are optimally configured to get the perfect brightness for any condition without needing to cycle through a dozen or so settings, and the build quality is absolutely top-notch. The lens has very nice coatings for anti-fog and anti-glare, and the sight picture is very crisp. I'm not sure if it's polarized, but the crispness is similar to looking through a set of polarized lenses. It does have a fairly blue tint to it, but this is intentional. To me, this builds contrast between the reticle and the field of view, which prevents it from getting lost on any color background and any brightness condition. When shooting two-eyes-open, I don't even notice the coloration, other than that it enhances my ability to find the reticle and get on target quickly.

Over all, it's hard to review or compare this optic to others, since it's the only one on the market that has this feature set. No one else out there has a tritium/fiberoptic reflex sight that's boosted or backed up by LED, let alone one with the reticle options available from Meprolight. The two AA batteries are fully redundant, and the optic will run on one battery, or pull power from both to double the LED/laser battery life. Quality is fantastic, and windage/elevation adjustments are on ball/detent mechanisms that feel smooth, solid, repeatable, and have a very clear tactile/audible click - it fee

Excellent quality, perfect return to zero

Written on Oct 27, 2017

Doesn't mar the upper, doesn't mar the scope tube. QD lock-up is perfect, and is easily adjustable without tools. Repeatable zero. I didn't notice any shift at all. If there was any, it was well under one click, which is one quarter MOA. QD levers can be reversed to throw rearward rather than forward, which was handy for me, as I have an offset southpaw BUIS setup on the left side of the rifle, and needed the extra clearance when the mount was locked down. Best option out there for 1-inch tubes that has a QD base and 20 MOA cant. I think the 20 MOA cant is more important for 1-inch tubes than larger scopes, since you have a limited adjustment range. I get almost 4 full turns with a 200 yard zero using this base, which is good enough for a 1200 yd shot with 6.5 Grendel with no hold-over. Scope rings are 2.5 inches apart on the inside, and 4.5 inches apart on the outside. If you have a smaller scope, make sure you measure. They may be too spread out for smaller 1-inch scopes. Fits my Monarch 4-16x50 perfectly.
