Carefully Balanced Design

To some degree, butt stocks are a personal preference and can be tailored to the individual's needs. I've used Magpul CTR's for quite some time but have always found them a bit on the bulky / clunky side for use with hard plates. While they do have a generous butt pad, I think in my experience, at least for my stocky 5ft 9in frame, they weren't quite optimal. I also had to shim them using delrin strips I cut to eliminate the rattle on mil-spec tubes.
