I see the comments under this product and I am here to tell you the negative ones are due to user error on installation. The metal clip is made of a harder steel so it functions as a clip, if the steel was softer it would bend. Because of this the tolerances have to be pretty tight. Each pin has two notches that the clip locks into at each end, the first one lines up automatically when you install the clip onto it from the slider end. The other side that the open end of the clip goes over has to be lined up manually with the opening of the clip. There is a little hex head at the other end of each pin that you can use to do that. You line up the opening of the clip with the notches on the second pin, and only then use something like needle nose pliers to clip it. If you do not do this, you will most likely break your clip by forcing it to try and open more than it is capable of. If you are worried about scratching your lower use a few pieces of electrical tape around the clip to protect the lower while you clip it on. This is an excellent product, it works very well, I hope this helps.

However it has a weird smell. I compared it to two other major competitors, and as far as its lubeicity and staying put properties it was probably the best of the three, it did not penetrate or spread as well as the premium version of Hoppes, so this one is probably the best for AR upper lubrication. The reason I gave it 4 stars is the smell, its not very strong, but its a bit off-putting.
