I've used other magnifiers out there, EOTech, Vortex old version, Sig Juliet, Aimpoint, etc...This new offering from Vortex beats them out easily and here's why...Eye relief, price point, mount, glass clarity, and Vortex' world famous warranty. Eye relief is by far better than most if not all other magnifiers out there. Eye relief in magnifiers, generally by design are not the greatest compared to actual magnified optics, but the Micro 3X has a generous 2.5"-4" eye relief (literally holding it up to my eye, alongside a ruler!). Price point is also very nice, especially if you can get them discounted via different sights, or discount codes (LEO/MIL). At that price point, the optic also includes a quick detach and a very positive feeling flip feature that doesn't require pressing any extra buttons. It flips out and in with a very sturdy and satisfying click, with no wobble or extra movement. Glass clarity for the Micro 3X is awesome, especially for a magnifier, and truly amazing for a magnifier at this price point. And finally, the Vortex warranty...not enough can be said about this. Having issues, something breaks, you break it by running it over, kid uses it as a hammer, etc...replaced/repaired/taken care of, with little to no questions asked. I've got around 2k rounds through this magnifier on top of a 10.5" Suppressed SBR AR, and haven't had any issues whatsoever. This isn't my first gun light or Streamlight for that matter, but this is my first light/laser combo, and I'm very pleased to say the least. I run this light on my G43x with a Safariland OWB holster for work and a Aliengear IWB holster for off-duty. I paired my G43x with this light and several Shield Arms 15rd mags and I love have the capabilities of a G19 in a noticeably smaller package. The light isn't the brightest, but is adequate for a defense gun setup (honestly, I've whitewashed myself with my TLR1HL inside buildings with light walls/ceilings while training, so the lower lumens are actually welcomed for a change). As stated before, this is my first laser on a gun, not including PEQs from overseas...it was easier to "zero" the laser, I chose to do so at 15 yards, but at the range and doing drills, I don't really see myself using the laser much, but it's a nice feature to have. The fit is solid, it fits great in the aforementioned holsters, and my only real concern is battery life. I haven't had to change the battery just yet, but compared to its bigger Streamlight brothers, I feel like I'll need to change this one out more frequently. Other than the battery size, this light is good to go as long as you don't require 10000000 lumens!

I've had a Vortex Sparc 1, Sparc 2, Strikefire 2 Red Dot only, and now this magnifier. Never had any issues with Vortex, had to use their warranty service once for a mounting bolt that I snapped due to my error, and which Vortex replaced quickly, at no cost, and no penalty to me. I bought this magnifier for my 10.5" AR SBR that I was running my Strikefire on. Pairing up the magnifier with the Strikefire was a little too big a combo for me, so I ordered a gen 2 Crossfire red dot to run with this magnifier. I couldn't be happier with the setup! The magnifier has decent eye relief, has great clarity, and the swing away mechanism is pretty solid. I really have no complaints with my current setup after 1000 rounds down range. When paired with the Crossfire red dot, this entire setup is only slightly longer than just the Strikefire. I haven't seen any other magnifier come close to the performance, size, and money that this Vortex piece provides.
