I bought this mount instead of a CGEM because in my little research i read the CGEM was to heavy to move around loaded and the tracking on the AVX was better.

At first I was worried the mount were to small and I will end up buying a bigger mount soon for my Nexstar 8SE tube, but when I opened the box and assembled the mount this is not that small as you see it in pictures, it´s very solid and there is no play I can feel in any axis, the ASPA routine to align to the celestial pole is a plus to.

Once I assembled the scope I tried the ASPA routine since I can´t see Polaris from my backyard and is very easy and intuitive, the RTC on the mount make aligning even easier.

The fully assembled mount weight about 45 Lbs that you can feel it when you lift it, now I understand the guys telling on internet that the CGEM or similar mount are too heavy to move around loaded since that mount weight about 85 Lbs without a OTA.

The tripod legs on the AVX mount feels very solid, the black ends with screws and the tripod legs tips are metal, that´s great compared with my nexstar 8se that is plastic.

The mout itself look like if it has many plastic parts in pictures but there is little plastic on this mount, I feels that the C8 OTA is perfect match for this mount.

I bought one of the Levenhuk 2x Barlow Lens with Camera Adapter and the quality is impressive, solid and the eyepiece nose fit perfect with no slops.

The optic is multicoated and the entire body is metal, anodized aluminum (no paint), no plastic parts except for the lens caps
The camera adapter is a T2 thread that fit an T2 to any brand camera adapter you want to use, so you don´t need any 1.25" nose piece adapter first.
