At this price point, the Bushnell Equinox Z is a very good product. Be advised, however, this is not a true night vision devise. It is essentially a light gathering device that uses a cmos chip that then displays it in a video like picture (like a very good night vision camcorder). The picture is clean, the infrared projector works well and the housing is very well done. There are two minor issues with this system. First, unless you have the output on dim, the bright whites will kill your night vision (I recommend you use the dimmest screen setting in conjunction with the dimmest IR beam). Two, because there are several buttons that make this work, it would be nice if they were highlighted with a mild red light making changes easier in darkness. Finally, this would be an excellent product if they could find a way to produce a red (or green) image (instead of bright whites) to the eye (even a removable red filter would help).
