Great as always

Review for
SureFire X300 Ultra LED Weapon Light
I own several surefires and this one is just like the rest, great light at a good price point. A bit large for EDC but perfect for duty or home defense. Also works well on a carbine though I'd go with a surefire scout for a serious duty carbine.

one scope that does all
Written on Nov 08, 2017
Almost a true 1X power and the 8 power is very useful clear. My opinion is its the most versatile carbine optic on the market. Maybe not the best at any one thing but can do anything to a very high standard.

still a decent optic for mere mortals

all is as is advertised. I prefer the window of an eotech to most others as it is the most generous field of view. Yes I have read all about the zero shift... Truth is, yes, SF type dudes need to concern themselves slightly with this as they operate in a multitude of environments. But, The shift only happens with massive temperature shifts. so if you zeroed in baghdad in april then a week later you are back at ft carson co in the rockies, yes you can expect a noticeable shift. but for home defense, competition and so on I think we are all good to go. One caveat. If this is for a peace office's patrol rifle, consider that if you work in hot climates like the south, you may have zeroed at 70-80 degrees...But the trunk of your patrol car can easily hit 130 + which according to the studies maybe enough to cause a shift.

good solution for mounting a sling
Written on Apr 25, 2017
fits well and mounts a single point sling very well, the mounting loop is offset high enough so it doesn't wear a hole in your skin in the web of your hand when you fire. Some of the cheaper mounts I've seen do

best optic for the money
Written on Mar 28, 2017
I'll compare this to the T2 aimpoint as that is the closest competition. The T2 is marginally clearer and maybe a bit lighter but the MRO has a wider field of view and I prefer to run fixed iron sights as backups. The larger lens of the MRO is much better for that. For the price difference I can not justify any other optic for value to performance ratio.

all that most people need

Review for
Aimpoint PRO 1x38mm Reflex Red Dot Sight
As far as value vs function this is a 10 out of 10. Is it the best red dot on the market period? no, I think the M4 aimpoint is tougher and the T2 is the best period but there other good options from other companies as well but for the bang to buck ratio this is the best on the market.

great option for the money
Written on Sep 27, 2016
Okay for starters, I'll admit that I've never used the ultra premium optics like U.S optics or nightforce. Those run about double the cost of this more than adequate scope. That being said, I have used leupold, acogs and many other higher mid range scopes and this one is by far the most for the money. I love the MOA crosshairs and find the glass barely but noticeably clearer than my VX6 leupold 1-6. It seems very well made and solid. I haven't thrown it off a two story building but so far its held zero and has taken a spill off a gun rack to the floor directly onto the tube.
Sure, compared to a VCOG or elcan specter its not waterproof to 100 meters or whatever they top priced ninja scopes are these days but it is rainproof and waterproof up to about 10 feet. Since I'm not swimming out of a torpedo tube of a nuke sub I think 3 meters will be just fine for me.
