This is my 2nd scope, so I dont claim to have alot of experience, but I can tell if an image is fuzzy or clear. so take that as you may. The most common complaint I read was the blurring affect at 7 and 8x. My vortex does NOT do that, even at very short ranges under 50 yards. Its summer of 2019, so maybe that issue was addressed and fixed. The turret clicks are are positive and "clicky". The zoom is a bit stiff, but not that bad. You dont have to worry about any settings accidentally adjusting on you while doing alot of extended firing. Eye box is a little shorter at the 7 and 8x, but nothing you will notice if shooting in a supported position. The 1x works very well with 2 eyes open. Fish bowl affect is minimal. The reticle gets bright, no problems in the sun light. I do wish they had 1 higher brightness setting though and an off setting between the brightness settings, but I will survive. I needed something compact (under 10.5") and something with a bit more reach than 6x. For this price point, I highly recommend this optic.
