Best ambidextrous charging handle available for the AR platform.
Written on Jul 06, 2017
I needed a couple of ambidextrous charging handles for my AR's with optics as the mil-spec units are very hard to use with a magnified optic. I researched the available handles on the market and found that the Raptor was the one at the top of everyone's list and the one that all others are judged against. I purchased one each for my AR 15 and AR 10 and found that they are everything and more. I was so impressed by their comfort and ease of use I put them on all of my AR's whether they had optics or not. You can spend more but you can't get a better ambidextrous charging handle for the AR.

Apparently made in the U.S.A. doesn't mean quality to Leupold.

Ordered this scope to mount on my S&W 629 Competition pistol. When I un-boxed the scope and looked through it I observed that the reticle was canted vertically to the right, I set it into open rings completely level and put a level on it and saw that the reticle was off by 3 to 5 degrees. I contacted Optics Planet to request a RMA and replacement but was told they were out of stock with no idea if or when they would receive more, they said I could get a different brand or send it back to Leupold under warranty. I contacted Leupold and after arguing with customer service (they couldn't possibly send out a scope with a canted reticle) I received a shipping label to sent it back, which I did. I received it back in approx. 10 days and it appears to be fixed. The problem is that Leupold has a quality control issue that they refuse to accept or address. I even pointed out to them that feedback on their own site showed other purchasers of their scopes had the same issues with canted reticles. I have owned scopes costing from $20 to $1000 and never had one with a canted reticle, I mean isn't that the most important issue with a scope?

Review for
Leupold Quick Release Weaver Style QRW Rings
I ordered these rings to mount a Leupold handgun scope onto my S&W 629 Competition pistol. The gun comes with a scope rail made into the top of the frame. One ring fit and tightened up perfectly the other would not tighten onto the rail indicating the base of the ring was not machined properly to fit the scope rail. I returned the rings to Optics Planet and requested replacement with Warne rings, I'm still waiting for those, but have never experienced a problem with Warne rings.

One of the best Q.D. bi-pod mounts available.
Written on Mar 12, 2017
I have been a fan of Mid West Industries tactical products for years. Their Q.D. Harris Bi-pod mount is one of best if not the best on the market. This mount allows you to switch your Harris bi-pod to any other gun you have with a bottom picatinny rail literally in seconds. It is very easy to adjust and is rock solid when mounted. It is one of the higher priced Q.D. mounts on the market, but you get the top quality workmanship and finish you pay for.
