Very disappointed

This is a great looking compensator for a Shield/Shield Plus, and the mounting setup is also praiseworthy. I really wanted to like this. But the one I received was defective as the inside threads on the "thread protector" portion were poorly machined and it would not go on my SilencerCo Shield barrel. My barrel is not the problem, the threads on the Sampson comp were visibly defective. It looks like other people received good ones, and I just got a bad apple. But I'll move on and try a different brand - basic quality control fails on something is straightforward are a no-go for me.
Solid mount, tight fit

This mount is exactly what I wanted. It fits tightly and feels very solid on my Vepr AK. At the time I bought this in April 2018, there were no reviews or details on the Optics Planet site and very few on the company's site, so it was a bit of a gamble to make the purchase. I'm glad I did. I'm not sure it is better or worse than other similar AK mounts, but it was low priced and is doing very well. No movement whatsoever after a long day of shooting. It went on very tight, so be read to do a tiny bit of sanding / stoning to make sure there are no burr on this mount or the bracket it goes over. Once I had done that, it went on tight and smooth. I'll be buying more of these int he future, I am sure.
