Nice scope for AR or other tactical rifle.

Written on Sep 22, 2020

Well constructed with aluminum housing. The cross hairs can be seen during the daytime without the benefit of the electric illumination. Scopes I have bought in the past were either/or. I like the black cross hairs for bright days and to have them in the event of battery failure. The top iron sights are great for close shots and you can easily move from one to the other with minimal effort. A very nice feature. I like the bullet drop compensation and will use it on targets varying in range during shoots. I have not tested the accuracy of the marks as to bullet drop but I am pleased so far. My only complaint would be the weight. It is a little heavy for a modern scope but the quality is worth the extra weight. The price is incredible.

Axeon R47 Mounted on an MP5 with peep through riser.

Written on Aug 08, 2020

The sight is quick and easy to acquire the target. I ordered the non hooded version. Next time I will get the hooded version since the scope does have issues in bright sunlight. On overcast days or dust it is terrific and the aim point is bright and easy to see. Has four options from red dot to cross hairs. I prefer the cross-hairs for longer distance as it allows me to compensate for bullet drop. I used a bore laser to sight it in as well as comparing the sight to the iron sights. Using the riser allows access to the iron sights without removal of the optics. I highly recommend this method of mounting , although it takes the full range of the vertical adjustment to get sighted in. The only criticism is the battery life. This will depend on the brightness level used. The sight has brightness from 1 - 7. I find in daylight 5 works best for me. Increasing the brightness does shorten the battery life. Hence my suggestion of a riser to access the factory iron sights.
