small powerhouse

Written on Apr 11, 2023

Holosun quality. Dual Brightness, 11ozs, small. Nice beam that lights up the target at a good distance, not to wide. Run time is about half of my others but, half the weight. Extra batteries are again, half the weight and size. Fits well on my small handgun, nice on the larger ones, and very well on the long guns. Switching is solid, ambi. Compact. Charging is with a magnetic type end, nice.

The 3rd one.

Written on Mar 30, 2023

The 3rd time i got one. I love it. Smooth and nearly twang proof. Seems faster than the single wire springs. It works flawlessly with my 5.56 rigs and also with a 350 Legend upper. Geissele quality un my lower cost build. Well worth the upgrade.

Well oh yea...

Pleasantly surprised by the minimal twang detected. Seems realistic to assume that 3 wires are better than 1. German engineering at it's best. It's in 2 outta 3 of my builds. Consider the source. Geissele quality.

Solid as a rock.

Nice tool. I took it to the woodpile as soon as I got it. It must split wood. I stood up a 3.5" branch/baseball bat and hammered it with another 3.5" branch. Flawlessly split in 2 strikes. The solid build is evident. My granddaughter held it and said: " Nice grip, feels good." 20 years old and she recognized quality. Wife? "Feels solid" as she banged it on a log. 65 years old. Me? Like a tank, USA quality, thank god. 66 years of wisdom. I know there are other good knifes out there but this is my first full shank knive, and I really feel my research paid off.

Like a glove.

My daughter ran out and bought herself on of these things, which are pretty good. But it came with one mag. So... she now has s few. They slipped in there, ran flawlessly, and fell out. For what the price is, all good. Can't get the 'real' ones but these are fine. Made well, good quality.

CMMG lpk minus Trigger Group

Written on Jan 01, 2022

CMMG is a good company. This is a good kit for the price. It leaves out the trigger group which is an upgrade anyway. The parts are mil-spec so nothing special. They all fit and function well. Just as always, clean and inspect the parts before installation.

nice upgrade

This is a semi bolt. I used it in my RRA LAR ar15 which has a very nice full BCG. This bolt, as it should, has less felt recoil and seems a bit faster. I didn't use the hammer as the RRA came with a pretty good 2 stage. Where this bolt shines (pun intended) is maintenance. Clean up is a perverbeal snap. Most all of it (after 400 flawless rounds) whipped off. Some scraping here and there.

Looks as good as it is.

I have over 400 rounds with it and yea.... flawlessly cycled every time. Just put this in my RRA Lar-15. The stock BCG was smooth already. This is smoother and seems faster? Cleaning was a snap. Most the crud just wiped off, with the remaining just a bit of elbow grease. Gotta say, it looks great in there. Saved the hammer for another build so no review on that. RRA 2 stage trigger. Love it.

Works ok. Covers a good selection of adapters.

Will get you on paper at 25 feet. The external battery set up feels cheap and fragile. I think it needs a stronger magnet? Not to bad otherwise: case closes, decent machining, All that I needed caliber wise, was in the set. Get some batteries.

Good collection of easily lost/broken parts

Written on Apr 13, 2021

Good pile of lost or broken parts. If you Smith your own, this type kit is always in demand: even as a grip filler. Haven't used a single part as of yet but they appear to look and feel serviceable. Keep it running.
