Nice amber see through scope cover

Written on May 09, 2016

Nice scope cover, snug rubber fit, stays down, yet pops up easily when YOU want it to; light amber, almost canary yellow good for high contrast low light. New 270 design I like a lot. Won't slip off. Time will tell if it maintains good grasp on flip off portion.

Very Nice Flush Choke Tube at great price

Written on May 09, 2016

This is a very nice high strength stainless choke tube from Carlson's, and is a very good price.
Haven't patterned it yet, but it screws in and out snugly, and the stainless steel looks good. The 17-4 heat treated stainless should hold up well to steel shot, and I'll not worry about Carlson tube having 'thread lock' issues.

Nice Sturdy amber see through scope cover

Written on May 09, 2016

This is au nice sturdy amber scope cover, good for bright and lower light conditions; stays closed yet easy to pop-up. Better than today's Butler creek covers. Built sturdily, the outside is stiffer or more rigid than the new Quake covers, and fit is critical--if it's a little too big, it will slide off. Yet when the fit is dead on, it is a very nice cover. And very good value for the money here at Optics Planet. I'm not sure that a lighter, canary yellow, might be better for low-light contast--but this is good for sunny conditions also.

Bushwhacer Amber see thru scope covers

Written on May 09, 2016

These covers fit well, they pop-up at just the right amount of pressure, are easy to close, and are the improved version which flips over to the side (270 degrees). Lens is light amber, near what optometrist calls canary yellow, which makes for enhanced contrast in low light. They do not have the problem of newer Butler Creeks of popping up on their own. The stretchable rubber outside needs to be put on with some care, and pressure, and yields a tight fit--they will not slide off. Between these an the new Hawkes, we finally again have a good option for amber see through flip up caps. Time will tell how well the flip-hinge holds up with use. But so far, I like and recommen them.
