Great glass

Written on Apr 17, 2021

These are very nice little binos. I was going to get the Vortex ones in this price range but nobody had them in stock as of 4/2021, so I looked around and what caught me eye was the Hawke Sport Optics brand has ED glass in this price point. So I decided to give them a try. It turned out the 8x32's are really a great piece of glass! Very clear and no color fringing at all! Very light weight and well made. The case is a nice extra. The focus knob is smooth and seems to be well made. I would definitely recommend this brand and I do really like these binos. No buyers remorse here.

Great Binos

Written on Mar 08, 2019

I bought a pair of 8x42 legend L series and they were great but ended up giving them to a family member who really wanted a pair of binoculars so I bought a pair of 10x42 legend L series in camo. These are just as nice only in 10 power. For the cost I don't think you will find a better set of binoculars anywhere! I really like the camo version great for hunting. These are light weight very well made and the glass is very clear and crisp. These things really look great and the feel is absolutely fantastic. This size is perfect for going on long hikes and they do come with their own carrying case. I love these binos so much I might get the M series just to have an extra pair. If your looking for a pair of binos and not sure which ones to get the legend series are going to be very hard to beat. I like them even more than Vortex and I really like Vortex products. The only con I can think of is the lens covers are a little bit on the loose side but not much. By the way Optics Planet is the only place that I would buy them from.

Great Sling

Written on Aug 21, 2016

I bought this sling for my Ruger Gunsite Scout rifle and it is just about perfect for what I use it for. This sling is well made and very easy to adjust. The slide adjustment makes it easy to tighten and loosen very quickly on the fly. The stitching is well done and should last a life time. I think for the cost of this sling it is a good value. Would buy again.

Professional Grade

I bought this 30mm scope ring lapping kit for my Ruger Scout Rifle. This kit comes in it's own very nice case and everything about this kit from Weaver says nothing but quality. The price was very reasonable and compared to others I have seen on YouTube this one looks much better made. The alignment bars are precise and machined very well, also the lapping bar has multiple holes to screw the handle into so you can lap from the end or from the center of the bar. All the parts came oiled and there was no rust anywhere. The lapping compound worked well and it was not too messy. This kit will last a lifetime and I am quite pleased with this purchase. If you are looking for a scope ring lapping kit I recommend this one very highly. I would buy again.

What else can be said that other reviews haven't. So here is my 2 cents. It doesn't have the glass like a $1500 or for that matter a $800 scope does but the glass is quite clear. I was worried that the magnification ring would be too tight but that is not the case very smooth. The illumination knob is a little tight but has been getting easier with use. The reticle is not what you would want for a long range rifle or benchrest shooting but that is not what it is designed for. I found the illumination to be quite bright. I put this scope on my Ruger Scout Rifle and it fit the bill just right. The finish is nice and looks great. If you want to spend less than $400 on a scope then you won't find one with this quality anywhere. Hindsight is 20/20, knowing what I know now after buying this scope I would but again.
