I have ran through about 100 of the 200 rounds. I have had several failures to fire where I will inspect the round that did not fire and it seems OK then reload and fire it successfully. On another range trip today I had the same experience though after dropping the mag and reloading the normal appearing cartridge I noticed a primer on the bench. I collected all the spent casings and one was missing a primer and another had a primer bulging out. Finally figured out the popped primers are interfering with the action thus causing the failures. I'm reluctant to use the rest of the ammo for fear of damaging my gun with a loose primer floating around in the action. Very disappointing considering this is new factory ammo.
I'm not new to laser bore sights. Have one (another brand) for 5.56/.223 that I've used many times on multiple ARs that gets me on paper without fail. Prior to the range I "zeroed" my optic with the laser at dusk at ~10 yards with the gun in a stationary cradle. They are simple to use and thus feel my negative experience with the 300 BLK laser bore sight is not due to operator error. At the range I used two 18" x 12" targets side by side at 25 yards with a red dot optic and was missing both targets no matter where I aimed. High, low, center, extreme right and left, no luck. I'm shooting 300 AAC at over $1/round and getting frustrated. Eventually give up and take apart the gun and visually bore sight the target then get on paper.
This is a nice rifle scope with a reticle that at first looks complex but is actually easy to use. The optics are crystal clear and you can quickly sight in your target. You can use it without illumination or without so even if you use power (even though you have a spare battery) the scope works just fine.
