Solid piece pf equipment
Written on May 01, 2026
I bought this for my Father for backpacking. The one he had was an old plastic thing that was finicky. I figured it would be a cool thing for him to take on trips or just show his friends. I was issued one of these exact units in the Marine Corps and it held up well. Over all, build quality is awesome, tritium is bright and it’s a solid piece of kit.

Nice Upgrade to Original, Magpul Quality
Written on Aug 12, 2025
Review for
Magpul Industries MBUS 3 Rear Rifle Sight
I got this for a Patrol Rifle that a Retired LEO Family Member Received from his Department 30+ years ago. It has since had the Carry Handle removed and an Optic installed but still carries the A2 Front Sight/ Gas Block. I’ve purchased several Rifles with the old Magpul Rear Sight and much prefer this new design. The way the aperture flips as one piece is much more refined, rugged and cleaner to look through than the old “Fill the 0-2 Hole” design. I also like the larger windage adjustment as the Original could be difficult to adjust and felt less tactile. Yes, it’s a poly backup sight, but it’s much improved and costs much less than other “High End” Metal Rear Sights that achieve the same goal.
One Con is that the Windage Knob does stick out Further than the Original and can catch your hand if it’s too close to the Charging Handle. I simply moved it up Two Slots on the Pic Rail to gain the needed clearance.
Overall, I’m very pleased with it and was happy to provide an improvement on a Rifle that will most likely become a Family heirloom, even if it doesn’t end up with me.

Solid 1911 Mags
Written on Jul 22, 2025
I ordered these for a Les Bear I carry daily, I got the 7 Round as they tend to be the most reliable, but I also have plenty of 8 round Wilson’s. As always, top quality, Wilson wrote the book on 1911 Mags and the Metal Flush base just makes them that more appealing.

Review for
Magpul Industries PMAG GEN M2 MOE AR-15/M16/M4 .223 Rem/5.56x45mm NATO 30 Round Rifle Magazine
I usually add 1 or 2 Mags to an Order to get free shipping. Solid mags as well known through out the Industry. I’m glad Optics Planet now carries the Higher Round Count Mags.

Awesome Handguards, Larue Quality
Written on Dec 18, 2024
Purchased these for an MK12 I’m building. Tried Midwest Combat, Geissele MK16 and MK8’s. All great, but I wanted something a little more classic and Unconventional. Larue doesn’t disappoint. At 50 Ftlbs, the barrel nut aligned and the gas tube easily passed. The Quality is top notch and design is rock solid. Highly recommend (Just don’t tell Mark Larue)

Review for
Wilson Combat Upper Receiver
This Stripped Upper has TERRIBLE Tolerances. It rattles around like a Marble in a Spray Can. I would say “Different Manufactures” but it’s going on A WILSON COMBAT LOWER! Even with an AccuWedge, it has MORE Slop than the same Lower with an Daniel, Colt, Larue or LWRC have with NOTHING!
2 Stars because it does actually Secure to the Upper… I’ll give them that.

GG&G Remington 870 Flashlight Mount
Got this for my 870 Tactical. With the extended Magtube it can only go on the right side of the gun, otherwise the flashlight it’s going to get nailed. It also sticks WAY too far out and can’t be properly secured to my wall mounted Gun Rack. Not retrofitting my Gun or Safe… Just going to return.

These S&B 9mm dont feed great
Written on Sep 17, 2024
I used these with a Suppressed AR9 and converted glock 22. They don’t feed amazingly well. I believe it’s due to the flat bullet shaped. The low cycle pressure mixed with the flat shape leads to FTF. I haven’t run a ton of Sub, but this is the first lot I’ve run that’s really given me a problem.

Great Product for the Money

I’ve had a Sharpmaker for years. It a reliable, easy way to Sharpen Knives (Especially Higher End ones) at home. It does take a little technique, but with a little practice, you can have a Hair Popping Blade Edge. It works with any Steel (VG10- S45-M4 and S110). That said, It’s under $100, so if you are a true edge freak, it’s not going to perform like a system 6 or 7 times it’s cost. You may find it difficult to sharpen slimmer Hunting and Cleaning Knives with Edges less than 30 Degrees as it only has 30 and 40 degrees positions… Just keep that in mind. Otherwise, I’d highly recommend it!
