It is a fat muzzle device but is perfect with the barrel extension. It helps with recoil. It does give the rifle some weight at the muzzle. If using the rifle at the range it is a lot of fun. Not recommended for long carry.

I think it would make the AR a little heavy on the front end. After the easy installation it really didn't change. It looks fantastic on the gun and it does give a suppressor look. I added a fat muzzle device from strike industries so I have better recoil.
