I am admittedly recommending this ammunition without having used it, so far. I have fired various rounds in my revolver, and their performance has been satisfactory. The soft lead bullet delivers accuracy and lethality. Hornandy's Critical Defense FTX round provides an alternative. It's well made, and has a good reputation. If the round gets used, things will have gone south, so "hope for the best, prepare for the worst".

If this was mentioned elsewhere, I missed it. The forearm light worked right off, and the design seems good, both feel and function of the light switch.

That said, a forend nut wrench is needed, to remove the nut which retains the stock forearm. My 870 Tactical is the first Remington pump I have owned, so that caught me unawares.
I spent many years servicing and repairing all manner of equipment, and have done my share of field-expedient adaption of items to stand in for purpose-built tools. Some recommendations to employ plier tips sound possible, but I have the time to wait, so I have ordered a nut wrench.
When I receive the tool, remove the nut, and get the new forearm on, I intend to report how it functions on the shotgun. I feel like it will enhance its utility.

Meanwhile, I hope others can skip the short wait I am experiencing.
