This particular "pic rail" was purchased for a couple mini action Howa's. I noticed on the chassis models that this rail would not mount properly unless it was modified. I ended up having to cut off a 1/2 an inch or so at the front of this mount in order for it to fit on the chassis 6.5 Grendel "American Flag" offerings from Legacy. Once it was modified, cleaned up and given a quick coat of black finish on the cut end, it fit fine. The other mini actions with 'regular stocks', built or bought, the rails mounted just fine. I would recommend this rail if this is the style you like on a regular "hunting model" or you plan on changing optics often. If not, you may want to consider a direct mounted base and ring (4 piece set) sets for this application and the chassis system. I gave it four stars because it is not truly a mount that will fit "all mini action rifles from Howa", as it basically implies.
It should be noted that this mount is aluminum. This could be a boon for some. It does save weight for those who are counting ounces and plan on using aluminum rings.
I bought this scope for a Howa 6mm Arc. I'm always impressed with companies like Burris who can offer such a decent scope with the options that they offer. This is defiantly not a high end rifle scope, however, it does offer what I need for this platform and it's application. I have this rifle set up for hunting whitetail, so it's going to see a little abuse. The glass is clear, it has a lifetime warranty and has the options I like on the reticle, parallax adjustment, and zero stop for both elevation and windage. This is a class of optics that has a more real world application. I look forward to sending rounds down range with this optic.
Not necessarily a mass-produced holster feel, however, does lack some minor finishing (speaking as someone who does leather work). Overall, a decent holster and will get the job done. Some simple modifications for my personal fitting and it will be a fine holster for what it was intended. Great for strapping up to go in the woods, down to the pond, or bumping around the property. Seems not too many companies will make leather holsters and opt for kydex or the like. Call me old school, there's something about a leather holster for a "tool of steel". This holster is definitely worth consideration for both models of pea shooters with mounted optics/red dot.
