I first used a Griffin Armament SOB and mounting kit on an 18in scoped AR for 3 years and it really helped tune my rifle and reduce felt recoil significantly when used in conjunction with an adjustable gas block. Long target shots and hunting are what this extension assembly are made for. The holes drilled in it are ideal for venting gas from suppressor back pressure, but also act as drain ports in extreme weather and accidental dips in the creek.
I recently began a recce rifle build and this is my go to component, I don't have to look further. I also have been running one in an 11.5 AR pistol and it helps mitigate recoil and slow down the cyclic rate very effectively. This extension tube assembly is the best value and performance I can find, so it goes on every firearm.
