This won't fit your gun
Written on Apr 26, 2021
Okay, I bought two of these triggers, one for my 2011 and one for my 1911. I liked the way they look and the notion of variable length was interested. Well I struck out with both. The 2011 bow was too long. Nothing I could do to shorten it and as a result it wouldn't allow the grip safety to block the rearward motion. Ie. The grip safety won't work with that trigger. Today I tried the 1911 trigger. It's advertised for "standard" 1911s. My Springfield Officer is as standard as you can get. I this cast the shoe was just too tall to fit into the frame. I haven't tried sanding the trigger yet, but that is going to really damage the finish. But it's either the trigger or the frame of the gun, and it's not going to be the frame! My advice, don't buy these triggers! They are not built to any standard specs I know!

Won't work on Gen 1 STI grips
Written on Apr 26, 2021
I wish I could have made this work. Nice looking trigger. But with my Gen 1 grips I first had lots of filing and sanding to do just to get the trigger to move inside the grip. I spent a couple days on that. But it turns out that the bow was simply too long, exactly 3/100 inch longer than the trigger I took out. I tried bending it and sanding the slot inside the grip but all to no avail. It was too long to engage the grip safety to stop the rearward motion of the bow. To be fair, I haven't tried this trigger on a Gen 2 grip. But don't buy it if you have a Gen 1 grip!
