Review for
Hornady Match .308 Winchester 168 Grain Boat-Tail Hollow Point Match Centerfire Rifle Ammunition
I have had a blast sighting my Springfield M1A Standard at 100yds using Fiocchi FMJHPBT 168g which resulted in multiple double hole shots in the black and the rest in and around the 1st and 2nd rings. I moved on to 300 yds using 168g NORMA and Nosler Match to improve my accuracy. I am very pleased that all shots were within the 2nd & 3rd rings. Not too bad for an old guy, obviously the rifle had a lot to do with that... Truthfully, I am a novice and still learning and after chatting with the range folks I tried Hornady's 168g, HPBT Match ammo. My shot groups at 300yds closed up and every shot was within the 2nd ring with multiple shots touching the 1st ring line and 2 in the Black. I recognize that the potential for this round is extensive and I am practicing my technique attempting to improve my shooting technique. Once I gain the muscle memory and technique, I will move out to 400yds and beyond?. Very confident with the Hornady ammo and hope to find the Black at 400yds and beyond?

Fun Caliber AND Spot-on Accurate.
Written on Aug 22, 2025
Bench Sighted my Savage 25 with the Leupold VX2 50mm 4–12 X 50mm and of course the Hornady 17 VMAX Hornet. What a surprise, the first shot was in the black at 100 yards. Six additional shots ended up in the black as well. Moved on to 300 yeads and a few shots wandered out of the black but were within an inch. Given my old failing eyes this was a fulfilling day at the range and a complete success. Squirrel hunting in the Schenandoahs netted six of the little critters. Clean shots that dispatched the critters out to about 200 yds, that was as far as I felt comfortable taking the shot. Zero reoil and very little sound from the Flat flying little round 100% great hunt. I am confident the Coyotes saw would have met the same fate, but of course, not for use on critters larger than the Coyote.
Bigger game calls for my Springfield M1A. I use the Hornady .308 Winchester 168 Grain Boat-Tail Hollow Point with a Vortex Viper PST3-15 x 44mm scope.
Thanks Hornady!!

Nebo Davinci LED Flashlights 7000 Lumens
I ordered the Nebo Davinci based on my smaller Nebo that is used to illuminate tight spots while working on the house, Autos, Ect. It is a Great little Flashlight!! BUTT and there is always a BIG BUTT, I needed a Bigger solid, easy to operate and charge, Davinci hit the mark. It replaces 4 other old, beat-up flashlights in use on the 1st floor. Easy to charge via the USB (included) cord and very simple to turn on and adjust the brightness and rapidly change the beam from narrow to wide. Everything about the Nebo Davinci is Top Shelf in my book.
