Bolt release Lever is Sooo Handy!
Written on Oct 20, 2023
I install these on all my rifle builds. Once I tried it, I realized it is an important upgrade for LR 308 and AR type rifles. Better than the screw on attachment kind, this is a one piece bolt release with the handy trigger-finger-tip release.

Viridian HS1 Hand Stop dimensions
Written on May 06, 2021
FWI: Since several questions ask, the dimensions of this installed item are: 3.3" long, and when installed, extends approx. 1.15" from the rail to the lowest point of the finger stop. It covers two M-Lok spaces.

Handy, fun little device.

This item arrived with battery installed, worked right out of the box. Installation pretty straightforward, M-Lok easy. Green Laser is very bright and easily visible in daylight to 150 feet or more. Installed on AR style pistol. Forward hand position to operate laser may be a little awkward when firearm is positioned to look through red dot or iron sights, but much more comfortable and natural when held lower, because you just point and shoot, no need to sight through optics. Works fine as a hand stop otherwise, I keep my hand/fingers behind the stop when I am not using the Laser. If finger positioned in front of the stop it will press the button, the little green button is very sensitive and laser will activate with any light touch. There is no constant on setting, only press for on or release for off.

Some Trade-offs to consider in ergonomics and size.. Some pros and cons.
Written on Dec 14, 2015
I purchased this with the intent to mount it on a flat top AR style rifle. When I opened the box upon receipt, I could tell that I had been sent someone else's return item. (thanks Optics Planet..) The plastic bags on the box and on the scope inside were torn open and then sort of wadded back together and badly taped. Sigh. I examined the scope, it seemed otherwise unused except for the adjustment screw on the quick release mechanism which had the screwdriver slot bunged up and damaged, apparently by the previous owner trying to turn it without loosening the locking nut first. I am still deciding on whether to return it for refund.
Aside from that, here are my impressions of the scope:
I feel that this is a well made sight with several good useful features for the money. I paid about $90 including shipping. The two different reticle illuminations (blue and green) with three brightness settings work well. It arrived with a battery installed and a spare also included in the box. The scope reticle (I bought the Mil-dot) works fine without the illumination as well. The scope is clear, bright and sharp. The 42mm objective end brings in a lot of light, the variable zoom action is smooth.
So far so good, BUT, this wanna-be ACOG looking scope has some drawbacks. The description did not give the dimensions of the scope, but it turns out it is pretty big. It measures 7.75" long (19.8cm) which is the SAME LENGTH as THE ENTIRE UPPER RECEIVER. So, it does NOT allow the use
