I used this on a flash hider and on the castle nut with no problem. But with the barrel nut side, it opened the mouth of the wrench and it started slipping on the barrel nut at maybe 40 ft-lbs, probably due to how little material there is to transmit the torque. Torque spec for AR15 barrel nuts I believe is minimum of 35 ft-lbs and up to 75 or 80 ft-lbs, this range is to allow for timing the splines on the barrel nut with the gas tube.
Unfortunately, now I'm stuck with a bent wrench, a slightly damaged barrel nut, and the gas tube is still blocked by one of the splines of the barrel nut.
I would not recommend this to anyone. Just spend the extra money to get a decent Armorer's wrench.
