crisp and clean.

Written on Mar 15, 2026

I originally purchased this trigger for my PSA Micro Dagger and quickly found out that the PSA has a design difference in the trigger housing. So, I changed the trigger in my SCT, which was a stock Glock assembly. The trigger and housing function with great improvement in both the SCT and PSA. Needless to say, I ordered a new housing for the PSA as well.

combat proven

I have lots of different sights and this is by far my favorite. This is my second M21, but my first magnifier. You just cant beat the M21. The magnifier glass is crisp and clear with an amazing sight picture. Outstanding price. The magnifier was pretty much free when purchasing with the M21 in a bundle sale. They are both mounted on my Galil Ace G2. Perfection.

loose fit for mil spec

Written on Feb 21, 2026

Big fan of Magpul. Really like the look of this brace. Fits very loose on a quality PWS mil spec buffer tube. The box says mil spec but I think they sent me a commercial spec. Just never understood the reasoning behind mil and commercial spec.

light primer strikes

Written on Feb 16, 2026

I gave an initial unboxing review a few years back, but never reviewed the slide post range fire. As mentioned in the last review, the red dot was extremely tight to seat to the slide. At the range, the slide was plagued with light primer strikes. The internals are all Glock OEM parts. After disassembly, i saw no flaws in the internal parts. After placing the parts back in the Glock slide, the pistol functioned flawlessly. I cant say what the cause of the light primer strikes was, but my hypothesis is that it is possibly caused by over spray of the cerakote inside the slide.

what shade of tan is it?

Written on Nov 07, 2025

The light is bright and works very well. Nice proprietary magnetic charger but has a very short cord. The shade of tan doesn't match any furniture that I have. The foregrip is a little longer than expected and takes up a lot of realestate on the rail. It is also a little on the large side making it look slightly over bearing on the rail. The on/off switches are easy to use but have no setting for constant on. Not bad for the price but there are definitely more ergonomic foregrips out there.

needed upgrade.

Why cant this be the switch that comes with the light? Slightly longer than the original pressure pad, but a much needed upgrade.

Brightness!

Written on Sep 14, 2025

Slightly larger than I expected. Extremely bright. Disappointed with the pressure pad. The pad is longer than needed, and doesn't have a permanent on mode. Six hours required for full battery charge.

Faxon Quality

Written on Aug 29, 2025

Never purchased anything from Faxon that didn't examplify quality. This barrel is well manufactured, fits nicely in all my G43/X uppers, and has a great TiN PVD Gold finish. Nice contrast with my dark gray LFA ported upper, and green PSA micro upper.

break-in period?

Written on Aug 29, 2025

Great company doing great things for the firearm industry, but the tolerances on this guide rod are less than ideal. The end of the rod protrudes from the front of the slide. It also restricts the slide from full recoil and doesn't allow the slide release to engage. This happened with my G43, 48, PSA Micro, and LFA 43 with SCT lower. After a literal hour of manual slide manipulation with my LFA, the guide rod finally wore-in, or broke-in. The rod still protrudes from the front of the side, but now allows for full recoil of the slide and use of the slide release. Manual manipulation of the slide seems to have remedied itself on all my 43/43x/48 models. I never experienced this issue with any other competitor's guide rods.

Range fire

Written on Aug 20, 2025

I forgot to give a review after going to the range a few months ago.

I've never experienced such a monotonous set of instructions for a barrel break-in. Honestly, I dont understand Faxon's logic behind its break-in requirements. But, they are the engineers.

The upper is monolithic, so it has a little weight. But that weight makes recoil feel almost nonexistent. Extremely smooth action. This is the luxury sport of piston uppers. Not a single malfunction. Did I mention how smooth the action is and how light the recoil feels? You can control your sight picture during rapid fire as if it were a roller delayed action.

The upper did get quite warm at the end portion of the handguard that sits over the gas block. But, if you wear shooting gloves, it's not an issue.

If you are considering the ARAK as your next piston purchase, do it! I can't say enough about how well manufactured and how well this upper functions.

The next review will be how it runs suppressed.
