Value is not there…

Written on Sep 07, 2025

Value is very subjective. For me, this does not make sense for the money. Very high priced, virtually paying $200 for a barrel and $200 for a very small but useable comp. The mark up must be close to 700-800 percent.

Better spent on small silencer/suppressor. That has much more value.

Does it work, yes. Probably reducing recoil around 20-25%. My wife has a Glock 43x that she bought for our backpacking, mountaineering, kayaking and just all around outdoor activities. I tend to carry a large caliber or larger firearm. This comp was meant to help her manage recoil better and get follow up shots on target faster. We recently had a few criminals/thugs attempt to steal some gear and our kayaks leaving us stranded on the lower Colorado River. Crazy story and interaction. She realized quickly how important a firearm can be for two legged creatures as well and not just bears, cats, etc… she had to hold down camp while I raced to reception to get national park rangers involved to help track these guys and also follow one.

Back to the Ramjet…. The quality is good, really flawless and well designed. It’s a great little comp however, it is very overpriced. My wife is an avid shooter and we belong to an incredible range just a few short miles away from our front or back door. She has probably 20k rounds or more of experience with her Glocks. Even she stated that she likes it but for the price, she would have rather spent the money on another firearm, tool or even gear. It just isn’t wo

Works as Intended.

Superb ammo for bear defense. The casings are very slick and the hard cast flat nose drives very deep I to hard and soft tissue whereas the flat nose bullet drives deep and straight without wondering off like a round nose.

Excellent round and Underwood produces flawless ammo.

So far its been great!

I own somewhere around 13-15 BCG’s. Some very expensive and others not so much. This is my second BCG from Sharps Rifle and the XPB line. I will say that the gas rings lock the bolt up tight and needs a little bit of time to break in if you have a gas system that is a little anemic or gas port. I use these in SPR’s that have 18” premium series BA fluted barrels that have .093 gas ports. The speck on your typical MK12 is .998 to .101 (or very very close without looking at crane chart. I actually had to open up the gas port on these barrels to .098 and the bolt runs excellent. Ejection is at 3’oclock with grain 77 OTM. Going to a heavier buffer to get a hair closer to 4’oclock. When you get into these rifles, the timing is everything and needs some tinkering. The blast are very smooth and the finish is very nice. I think for the money, it’s a great value. I have other nickel boron BCG’s from Spikes, Tool Craft, WMD, as well as DD and BCM. My preferred bolt is the Sharps but time will tell. My first SRC purchased in 2023 has held up very well and gets a lot of rounds through it.

POF Two Thumbs Up

Written on Jan 08, 2025

I own four of these and it took me a a few years to replace all my wife and I’s triggers. I chose POF for the 1st one due to their quality control and inspection on each part. It’s very unique in the industry to put so much attention on a single part. I also know that POF Rifles have always been revered in the gun market and community and again, much in part to their attention to detail.

I am not a professional or expert when it comes to triggers but have thousands upon thousands of rounds thru a lot of rifles and also triggers. I find each one to feel identical to the other. The trigger pull is brief and the wall and reset is always the same. The 4.5lb is a good go between from a patrol rifle to the DMR/SPR. I recently tried a 2 stage Geissele and found myself putting the POF back in and sending back the Geissele. I prefer a single stage. Mainly because it’s what I have known for 27 plus years. I do have an Elftmann 3.5pb but found I was getting light hammer strikes u til I put it on another lower.

POF has been solid for me and I can get consistent 1” groupings.

excellent!

I use Midwest industry and Larue mount but mostly choose American Defense Manufacturing. My wife needed a mount for one of her new shotguns. Quick detach is the way to go. This was a good price as is exactly what she needed for her red dot. Like many, she has become concerned with the state of this nation and ridiculous crime that comes with a failing government. She struggles with accuracy from a sidearm/pistol but not rifles where she is far more stable. She has wanted her own tricked out shotgun. After buying a panzer m4 she wanted to upgrade to a Beretta a300 she saw at Bass when I was looking a pelican rifle case. What’s better than American Defense Manufacturing? A super hot wife that enjoys firearms as much as me.

I recomend but…Interesting find.

So at its basic form these are great. However there is a fundamental problem if running a scope. The side turrets for wind age left to eight blocks but of the view of the target. These sights do not sit high enough away from the scope either a LVPO or a scope due to this. Your check weld becomes very tight and again, your view is incredibly obstructed.

These sights are incredibly well built and are great for a red dot or holographic sight if a medium to small red dot. If I was to install around my Trijicon MROs on any rifle we own it would work much better due to the smaller radius of the red dot frame minus the larger side turrets you find on scopes. This was purchased for a MK12 with a 2.5x12 scope with a 44diameter objective. The turrets just get in the way of your sight picture. You can see the target but can not see directly to the left of it. Not a chance. Too much obstruction from scope.

All in, great sights but need to sit higher and more out to the right for this to work.

Very Solid Lockup and Rail

Written on Jan 21, 2023

I decided to go with Samson again after success with a larger Star Series. Expensive but robust. It lines up perfectly and locks into place with a very secure system. I like it so much that soon I will purchase a second for another upper with a A2 front sight post.

If your looking for a quad rail with a very secure free float design then choose this. It was either this or another RIS 2 Daniel Defense. Samson has its place in my safe for a good reason.

Solid optic and worth it however not perfect.

Written on Aug 14, 2022

For the money this optic is good. The glass is not as clear as my Vortex Razor HD but very good and especially for under $500. The turrets are nice and crisp when dialing it in to zero. There is one issue with this one unlike two others I own, the cap (0) notch does not line up perfectly with the line mark when locked (cap pushed down). It’s a bit annoying that it does not line up and this is why I gave it a four star. It sit a notch before or after zero (0). The reality is, this is the only con. The one other I own does not have this issue however as well as their Kentucky Long model. I liked it so much I bought the 1-8 as well. On 10 power I get a good crisp sight picture with reasonable clarity for the price. Nice reticle with accurate hold overs.

Great functionality

Written on Jul 22, 2022

What makes these sights unique is that you can off set them or place them directly on the top rail for traditional sights. This alone makes them very versatile. The other pros is that that are very minimal, very durable, all steel construction, machined very well and lightweight. They also have a very solid sight picture. They just work.

There is one con but you may find an advantage. These are stiff little suckers to flip up. They do loosen up a bit over time.

I would purchase again over my Troy’s, micro pro magpuls and even the low profile Midwest Industries (another great option).
