I bought this mount to fit on a MKE AP5. As stated in the title, this is a typical Midwest Industries well engineered and manufactured product. It fit my MKE AP5 well and was relatively quick to install. It comes with long screws which are needed to fit the AP5. Take note of the orientation of the metal pieces that clamp on the receiver. Install them exactly the same way with the longer screws. I installed the clamps on one side and then the other. It is a very solid mount and I highly recommend it. Optics Planet had the best price by far.
I have been buying these Gen 1 scopes since they first came out, which might be approaching 12 plus years. I don't remember when I purchased my first one but it has a low serial number and is still going strong. It is remarkable that they are still popular today even after the Gen 2's were released and are still being manufactured. They were sold under the PST Viper line and the Ranger line and are identical scopes. I use the 1-4 power out to 400 yards depending on the target. The glass-etched reticle is outstanding. The 1 MOA dot allows me to consistently and easily hit a 4" clay at 200 yards. All I need to do is place the dot in the center of the target and pull the trigger. The 2 MOA increments on the X and Y axis of the reticle allows quick hold overs or wind adjustments. The eye relief is excellent. The glass is clear and sharp, even in poor light. Over the years I have sent two back to Vortex for canted reticles and they have returned them repaired within 10 days. Their lifetime warranty has been outstanding. There are two cons but they have not proven to be significant to me. One is the red lighted reticle is not bright on setting 10 in strong sunlight. However, it is great in low or medium light and has ten settings. The other is that I have bumped the zero setting on the turrets a couple of times while pulling the rifle out of the bag. I now check it before shooting. It has not been a deal breaker for me. Vortex did offer a capped turret version for a w
This is my favorite red dot sight. It is rugged, has an outstanding battery life, and the size of the dot is perfect for me. The mount is great. I have been buying Aimpoint sights since they first introduced them into the US and I will continue to do so.
I own four Fast Fire II's and two Fast Fire III's and they have all been reliable sights. I purchased this one to install on a Glock 34 MOS for competition. The installation and sight-in was easy and I can't to use it in a match. The battery cover was not as easy to install with a battery as the FF II's. The switch takes a little getting used to but works okay. I love the 3 MOA dot.
