First, i only (typically) write positive reviews but I’m just so disgusted that im now throwing this Hand guard into the trash, i had to get this off my chest (for therapy). So i bought the handguard in 2017. When i received it, I was stoked! Once Cerakoted and installed on my .308 build, i realized the proprietary strategy from JP to harvest more money from a customer. So the rails….they’re proprietary. Not a huge issue until you see the price….$100 for a top rail!!! Are you kidding. They purposely tap the mount holes different from mil spec so you HAVE to spend the money on their rail. Second issue is the clocking of the guard and getting a solid seat. It relies on a rubber gasket to provide tension/friction. It blows. Comes loose and eventually breaks…but hey, provides organic growth for the company as you need to replace the proprietary gasket. So i going to repaint the ar10 and now the JP is being replaced with a far more consumer friendly guard (MI). It’s rare to find a gun parts company that puts their customer so low on the companies priorities. So long JP and good riddance.

Know your thread pitch

Nice brake. I always find it funny when folks bash products for the buyers incompetencies. In the description, it mentions that it is for .308/.762. So you know, that’s 7.62x51 NOT 7.62x39. Besides, Your issue is not the caliber, your issue is thread pitch and thread direction. Know your AK’s.
