So before I had any idea about buying the Dissent I had a budget 9mm upper I built from Midway. I became interested in getting a different 9mm upper due to my old upper having two out of battery detonations (which was mostly my fault, I shot reloaded ammo I made with all lead projectiles, the lead bullet I pressed got shaved off at the case mouth and increased the diameter of the round) which to say the least is a unpleasant experience.
My choice was either the Dissent or the Banshee. The Banshee however didn't have an extracter built into the upper so if you had a round in the bcg, getting it off the bcg without firing it can be an issue. Also the barrel options were more limited, I wanted a 10.5 so I can add a barrel extension to make it legal here in CA but didn't want to go 16in.
I have the Dissent mated with a Spikes Tactical 9mm lower with LRBHO that I'm happy to say is working wonderfully. I've shot about 120 rounds so far and had zero issues. The recoil is lighter, the gun itself is lighter and just looking at it and feeling it in my hands, it feels like it's a real quality firearm. It was pretty pricey for me to purchase but I have zero regrets thus far.
