I purchased this buttstock because I already some of these on my rifles but I ended up spending another $100 for an adjustable buttplate. The gen3 version has this included so get the new version. The new version is also compatible with AR-10 and the AR-15 tubes which this older version is only for the AR-15 tubes.

It has been a long time since I needed to purchase a new rifle scope. The NXS model was a little too expensive for me so I thought I would give the SHV a try. The optics are outstanding as well as the adjustment turrets. I love the MOA reticle as it has great clarity and precision. Perfect stiffness and positive clicks make this a perfect fit for my needs. I put this scope on a Savage LRS in 6.5 Creedmoor and went to the range to work up some load tests to find a good reload combination. After that, I moved over to the 600 yard range, punched in my ballistics into the ballistics app. The app stated 13.6 MOA for a praire dog silhoette. The MOA reticle allowed me to elevate to the proper angle and it was a hit on the first shot. I then knocked over the next 8 out of 10 targets. I would love to buy this scope for my other rifles and this is as close to perfection as it gets for me.

I have been using these Leupold scope rings on all of my rifles. They are over the top for durability but I rather have too much than not enough. These are steel, not aluminum so they are heavy. I only was required to move the scope settings an 1" in both the vertical and horizontal directions to get the rifle to zero. I purchased the medium height version and my Nightforce SHV 5-20x56mm barely clear the barrel on my Savage LRP rifle.
