Best Sub $2k Thermal!
Written on Dec 05, 2017
wow. what a great value. I have had first hand experience with several sub $2k thermal sights/monoculars and this one is by far the best as far as clarity, features, options, etc. If you are just looking for a Thermal to spot game (not a weapon sight), this is the one to get. Excellent clarity, high refresh rate, great resolution (even though it's not a 640 unit). I have sold my Armasight Predator, Sig Echo1, FLIR Scout III 320, but I won't be selling this one.

OK but not as good as the competition

I have had first hand experience with several sub $2k thermal sights/monoculars and this one is OK but not on par with its competition. Clarity is adequate but not great. For the money you could do better.

EXPS2 Review

Solid sight from EOTech. Takes up less rail space than the 512 series. Just like any other holographic weapon sight the reticle can appear fuzzy depending on your eyes (such as those with astigmatisms) and with the 2-dot reticle the dots are pretty close together so it could be hard to distinguish between the two for precise long distance shooting. Mounted on a KelTec RFB is keeps the bullpup compact. Just wish Optics Planet wouldnt slap their big "OPMOD" logo on the housing.
