This is a really good product and holds well with the zero of the laser. Light is super bright and has a party mode (strobe setting)! When you get this, immediately check the sight adjustment screws. Sometimes they get a manufacturing defect where they are too tight and they get stripped and can't be adjusted. If this happens, call streamlight and they'll just recommend to return it. OP was super cool and are even aware of this issue and will send you a replacement.

Put this on my custom build. I got the 4 dot with NV. Battery life is really good! Works well with NODS and is great for CQB. I bought the red reticle, but wish I had gotten green because, after LASIK, my eyes are more sensitive to the red. Zeroed this in yards for bullet drop usage and cowitnessed the irons and DBAL in meters. This was tough! But I got it done. If you want to use the bullet drop, best to get a magnifier on a switch so you can pop it in and out. The 4 dots can be hard to use at 600 yards. I did drop my helmet on it, and it still held a zero. Poo hit the fan once, and it still held a good zero. I saw no difference in zero during hot or cold weather, even though the instruction block says it will. This works good with shotgun slugs too!!!

Before you buy, you should know what a good ejection pattern is and get the entire kit. Go to their website and use their selection guide to choose the right model. It will make tuning a LOT easier. Also highly recommend using this with an adjustable gas block. Once you install, smooth as butter and super reliable. If you don't know how to tune a rifle, then you aren't ready for this. To address common concerns, yes this will work with a 14.5" barrel or shorter, with a muzzle brake and an adjustable gas block.
Specifically though, it had issues with lightweight BCGs. Specifically with light primer strikes because even on the lightest spring and the most open gas setting, the bolt would bounce back just enough for a light strike. Spent a lot of talking back and forth with suppliers on this. I went back to traditional and grabbed a milspec full-auto BCG and my reliability issues were resolved. In fact, reliability went through the roof! You just REALLY need to know how to tune a rifle!

Pics up IR devices very well with clear picture. Had a few black dots, per normal manufacturing standards, but they were on the edge of the lense and did not impair vision. The headset it comes with is pretty much trash, so plan on a helmet kit later. The little IR illuminator is okay, but I use the DBAL illuminator as it is much better and picks up better in the PVS14. Good battery life and focuses easily. I like mine on the non-dominant eye so that I can have my dominant eye unaffected by the light. Works well for night hunting.

It's expensive, yeah, but takes a milspec Hammer and hairpin tirgger, puts them into one and gets rid of creep! No light strikes for me. Bought it for all my rifles after just one test run. Install is not bad, just be patient. I recommend using an Allen wrench to install the spring keeper as it is longer and easier to grab than the included pin tool. Their customer support team is very friendly, as I did call them with some marring questions that ended up being nothing and just how the hammer breaks in. I've run this through a duty rifle with short barrel that gets super dirty and so far has not jammed...not once!

I installed this on my duty rifle which also has a VERY aggressive muzzle brake with 45 degree muzzle blast. This light gets smoked by that all the time and has held up like a champ with only minor scarring. I do advise having a cap on the end to minimize lense scarring and make cleanup easier. Other than that scarring, the light continues to have good focused beam and distance. Works well with TAPS sync switches.

DURABLE: using a 45degree muzzle brake and this does get some of that blast. It cleans up nicely and a small eraser is all I need for lense cleanup, followed with proper cloth cleaning. EASE OF USE: Zeroing the lights and lasers is super easy. Just zero the visible laser and that will auto-zero the IR Lazer. And the illuminator just works great and can be focused pretty easily. ACCURACY: since I have a very aggressive brake, I do enjoy having to use the IR laser at night range. So far, it has held it's zero and maintained accuracy out to normally Army MPBR Zeroing for 5.56 NATO. NOTES: be gentle with the connections, if you are too rough in disconnecting, the inert may try to wiggle out. Just hold it before you start pulling and be patient.

Purchased for 3-gun, CQC, and night vis ops. Went with EOTECH for service history and durability with the holographic because it works on broken glass. Super clear reticle, long battery life (get fuzzy when the battery is low). You'll really only use the drop-dots with a magnifier, so plan on that if you plan to shoot at the 600yd range. Great for 1/3 cowitness with no issues there. The night vis is picked up with the NOGs pretty well. The ability to pick up with both eyes open is superb for fast target acquisition. Tested and works on shotguns too.

Installed this in an AR and noticed a decrease in the audible "sproing" sound when you cycle down to the last round. The polished surface I think is a little smoother operation and is 10x easier to clean after a few thousand rounds.

Depending on your shooting preferences and the build you are working with, this option is one of the best upgrades I've done. Installed this on a carbine length with lightweight BCG and adjustable gas block. At first, my ejections we're wayyyy off, but because this has so many springs to accommodate for different BCG weights, as well as different buffer weights, I was able to get the best gas operation possible! The only downside is the time and ammo spent in getting to that optimal functionality.
