Yeah, I said I would only give 5 stars to a tier one scope but I have found that to be pointless as they are so good that they don't really need reviews anyway, just shooters with a specific preference and deep pockets. For the rest of us, this scope is a solid deal and 5 stars in its price class. I have now been using it regularly since spring of 2018 and it continues to earn its place. The reticle thickness is the best of any FFP that I have used for its entire zoom range, which is a real trick to do. For that reason alone it makes it one of the best deals still, years later, if you want a mil-dot FFP for under $250.

For a small scope, this one gives up nothing. Good optically with a nice eyebox and normal eye relief. The second focal plane version is what I got and recommend at the 3-12x size. I wish they had used their reticle with a center dot but this one is alright. No illumination but the price sure is right. And that is the thing. This scope is a great value with a close focus side parallax, good view and small size. A winner!

I have this scope and a 10x SWFA SS mil/mil and I actually prefer this scope because of the reticle. I don't click, but if I did, I would use the SWFA. The SWFA is also noticeably better built and a good value, but for what I do, overkill. Having said that, I love the TacVector reticle and use it for hold overs. This is just a preference of mine and opinions vary. The turrets are a little mushy, but work well enough if you are not going to be dialing in evey shot. I have had this scope on a .25 PCP airgun shooting out to 120 yards and have not had any problems. For the money, this is an awesome scope. I had an $750 Bushnell 6500 2.5-16x on my gun, than the SWFA, and I finally left this scope on it because the reticle design works better for how I use the gun. What I am saying is, is that with more expensive options I choose to use this cheap scope over much more expensive ones. It wasn't a compromise, just a much better deal.

After using this scope all summer, and being disappointed by others, I have to add a star to my original review. This scope has been solid, repeatable, and confidence building. Zero problems. Truly a value leader. I still only give 5 stars to top tier products and not top values but this scope is all that.

I know, "...but you only gave it 3 stars!", this is a realistic review. It is a good deal, you get a scope that works and first focal plane rules! I zeroed my rifle in two shots, -nice. For the money it costs I would rate it 5 stars but in a market of awesome scopes it is a 3. I am not knocking it in any way, that is just the truth and why it costs what it does; value shoppers can stop reading here and just buy it. It is not as bright as a S&B, the clicks are not as good as a U.S. Optic, it is heavier than an SWFASS..., the list goes on and on but it is only $230 and it works. FFP scopes cost more but are worth it; which I found out using this one. The things which could be improved would be to include the sunshade and change the reticle to something like the Tac Vector or the SWFA. Everything is a compromise to the price but I have had many cheap scopes that included sunshades and better reticles, so there is room for improvement there. If someone knows of a FFP scope that is a better deal than this one, please share it with us. Tac Vector is an option but PA has better quality control in my opinion. I actually bought a Tac Vector and thought it was a clearer view and a much better reticle but the reticle was actually not lined up right and I returned it and got this scope instead. This scope performs like it should. If QC goes up at Tac Vector, Primary Arms is going to be in trouble though.
